Single Review – Countless Thousands – Webster’s Dictionary Defines Marriage As – follow @countless1000s [Video]

Punk purists, or even punk not-so-purists may not be keen on Countless Thousands, a bubble gum punk group from Los Angeles. In point of fact, these pseudo-punks sound more like if every single member of They Might Be Giants came down with a bit of the old brain damage, then copied everything the Foo Fighters ever shat out their b-side catalog. They’re not bad, per se, this overtly heartwarming outfit, they’re just not punk. Countless Thousands are so not bad, in fact that the Kickstarter campaign this year to fund their debut album, You’re Goddamn Right, made three times its goal…

A US artist with an accessible brand of rap and electronica blended together, Souleye is a songwriter with a very positive outlook on life. This positivity comes through in spades throughout his songs, and new single ‘Follow Your Heart’ is no exception. It’s out now on iTunes.

Angie and the Deserters – ‘Forgetting to Forget’ (from ‘You’ EP)

Those with a taste for smooth, folksy Americana music will find a lot to like about US band Angie and the Deserters. Taken from their latest EP ‘You’ (available here), ‘Forgetting to Forget’ is a song that ebbs ad flows from crescendo to crescendo to excellent effect. Featuring the soulfully rasping vocal of Angie Bruyere, the track is a real heartbreaker – just listen to the lyrics and it’s hard to believe you won’t find something in there to relate to.
