MTV Unplugged in New York was a live album by the famous American grunge band Nirvana. The acoustic set was recorded in New York City at Sony Music Studios on November 18th, 1993. The performance was aired a month later, December 16th 1993, on MTV. MTV Unplugged in New York was the first album released by Nirvana following the death of lead singer Kurt Cobain.
