Having been involved in a number of controversies in recent months – including criticising his promotions team, being accused of racist lyrics, and calling X-Factor winners ‘puppets’ – James Arthur has revealed on Twitter that he is no longer with Simon Cowell’s record label Syco.

Thanking the staff and the label for helping him make a ‘great record’, which saw the 26 year old reach number two in the album chart.

While there has been no comment as yet from the label, Arthur seems to be hopeful, tweeting ‘the future is bright’.
