It’s been five years since The Killers released Battle Born in 2012, but the band are back with their new song ‘The Man’. The single is taken from their forthcoming album Wonderful Wonderful.

The track was premiered by The Killers on BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac show which also included an interview with front man Brendan Flowers. When asked how it was getting the track out for everyone to hear Flowers said “It’s always a bit of a relief. There’s nothing else I can do, no more tweaks can be made. But, I’m happy with how this one sounds.”

When speaking about the thought process behind the track Flowers stated “Sonically, it’s pretty funky, funkier than we’ve ever done before,” and that the song involves ”quintessential Killers things” such as the bass line in the song.

The track, produced by Jacknife Lee, is said to reflect on Flowers’ younger and more ‘cockier’ years with him singing ‘I got news for you baby, you’re looking at the man’. The track is upbeat and catchy, so what’s not to love?
