The latest star to receive the post Glastonbury bounce, Lionel Richie is currently leading this week’s album sales following his successful slot at the Somerset festival on Sunday. His ‘Definitive Collection’ album, comprised of his greatest hits, was released in 2003 but is now headed to the top.
The album’s previous highest position was number 10, but post-Glastonbury week is famed for shaking up the charts, with a reported 17 of the top 40 albums so far this week experiencing a resurgence after live spots at the festival.
Can Richie hold on to top spot? Find out on Sunday, when the chart will be revealed at the weekend for the final time – thereafter heading to Friday afternoons.
