Due to a clash with the Scotland hosted Commonwealth Games, as well as the world cup in Brazil, organisers of the RockNess festival have decided to take a year out in 2014.

One of the largest festivals north of the border, the festival usually brings in around 30,000 people, but scheduling it around the two huge sporting occasions was proving tricky.

A statement from RockNess:

“We’d like to thank you for your support over the last eight years.

“Due to the addition of a number of events alongside the World Cup and the Commonwealth Games we’ve decided to take a year off.

“We’re using this break to make the event bigger and better than ever in 2015 so have an amazing summer and see you back at the Loch next year.”
