The tail end of hurricane Bertha put an end to proceedings at Boardmasters festival yesterday, with the surfing and music event forced to cancel Sunday’s live acts due to high winds and heavy rain.

The organisers took the decision after the severe weather caused a tent – due to be used as a live venue – to collapse before the day’s music started, with the wind also knocking over one of the large screens being used to broadcast the event.

Bastille, George Ezra and Catfish and The Bottlemen were all due to play on the day, but instead the music fans are hoping to get details on ticket refunds. Though no details have been forthcoming as yet on how they will go about claiming their money back, ticket holders have been directed to keep an eye on the event’s website for details.
