Grammy award winning pop-country duo The Civil Wars have announced that the ‘hiatus’ that began in 2012 will be a permanent one. Joy Williams and Paul White pulled out of a world tour two years ago due to ‘irreconcilable differences’, and have now released a statement to say that the split will be permanent.

Having first met in Nashville in 2008, the duo put our their first release in 2009 and went on to release two studio LPs and win four Grammy awards. The were also nominated for Golden Globe for a track they wrote for movie ‘The Hunger Games’.
