He has spent the last three years producing an array of well-crafted pop songs that explore the full spectrum of the emotion” – Hillydilly

A truly gifted multi-instrumentalist, with his voice being the most valuable instrument of them all” – IndieShuffle

Worcestershire-based electronic producer Astronomyy returns with his new EP, Rest In Paradise OUT NOW on his own label Lunar Surf.

’Rest In Paradise’ explores the journey of a relationship. From being Hypnotized and falling unconditionally, through tense uncertainty and self-doubt, to the final, title track, ‘Rest In Paradise‘ — which is open to interpretation as to whether that’s the end or just the start.

Sonically, the EP opens with dense, layered guitars and heavy 808s in Hypnotized – contrasting dark brooding sounds with pretty, nonchalant vocals. Things I’d Do for U takes a much lighter feel, mixing surf guitars and elements of trap — a genre I like to call guitar’n’b. The moody, sparse and stripped-back Don’t Need U slows the pace down for the second part of the record. Everythin’ On My Mind picks up where Don’t Need U finishes and takes on a west-coast/chill/summer hybrid. It’s a co-production with YOG$, who sampled my song Nothin’ On My Mind. The final, title track touches on a less-linear sound. A clash of hazy vocals, hyperactive percussion and big broad beats. A stoner-anthem, if you will.

Rest In Paradise signifies the end of a chapter in my personal life and my musical journey, solidifying it but leaving enough room to hint at the future.”

Astronomyy first made a name for himself on the music scene in 2013 regularly topping Hype-Machine charts and racking up millions of Soundcloud streams on his self released music, catapulting Davey through the ranks of up-and-coming artists to stand boldly at the top of his trade and new music press, who claimed Astronomyy’s songwriting shining from within an underplayed production that balances the interplay between meltingly clipped guitar lines and a drowned, velvety vocal” (The Line of Best Fit).

His contribution to MNEK & Zara Larsson’s international hit, Never Forget You – which he co-wrote and co-produced and which went on to sell millions of copies worldwide, not mention being streamed over 400million times to date, and truly opened up Astronomyy’s ability and passion to push his peers forward.

A passion he applied again to his edit of Billie Eilish’s ‘Ocean Eyes’ helping to cement her as one of the hottest new US Acts with over 17million Spotify streams alone.

This year will see his label Lunar Surf grow into it’s fullest form, watch this space for more exciting collaborations and own release on a brand fueled by Astronomyy’s passion for discovering and developing exciting new music.

In 2017, Astronomyy returns with Rest In Paradise: a collection of five songs that expand on his bedroom production to put him at the top of the self-releasing game. Things I’d Do For You and previous single Don’t Need U are joined by eponymous closer Rest In Paradise, the pop busting Hypnotized and downbeat ballad Everythin On My Mind. The Rest In Paradise EP offers an exclusive opportunity to hear Astronomyy’s multifaceted sound, ranging electronic pop to lo-fi dance and slick R’n’B.

The EP is out now on all major streaming and digital stores and also in Limited edition personalized day glow vinyl through his own store and exclusively through Banquet Records.

Astronomyy will be supporting Gnash in London at his 02 Academy Islington show on the 1st March.
