Released on May 6th, ‘February’ is the opening track to Moral Panics’ EP ‘WLVS’ (pronounced ‘Wolves’) and a strong opening it is too.
From the very first spaced out chord which then kicks in to an indie mix of staccato guitar melody and a chugging drum line this track does a really good job of holding the listener’s ear.
The vocal, while not overly wide in terms of range throughout, sits perfectly over a chord pattern once it kicks in. This really is a well produced little number, marking Moral Panics out as a possibly torch bearer of Foals like riffs and pace. It’s a common comparison apparently, but definitely valid.
